Located in Montreal, the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI‑MUHC) is a world‑renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. It is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University and is supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS). Position Summary The NeoBrainLab (www.neobrainlab.org) is seeking a highly motivated and organized Clinical Research Coordinator to support ongoing and upcoming clinical trials and database projects involving neonates with hypoxic‑ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). The successful candidate will coordinate study activities across multiple sites, ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and excellence in patient‑centered research. General Duties Study Coordination and Site Management: Facilitate implementation and monitor trial and national database progress across participating sites, train site personnel, ensure rigorous data collection, complete REDCap entry, manage imaging transfer, respond to site queries, troubleshoot issues, and support problem resolution. Participant Recruitment and Follow‑Up: Screen patients for eligibility, obtain informed consent from parents, ensure timely completion of study visits and long‑term assessments, provide education and support to families. Data and Documentation Management: Setup and maintain REDCap databases and the imaging repository (MedicAI), ensure secure data storage on the institutional server, maintain detailed logs for enrolled HIE‑TH neonates, finalize and update case report forms and adverse event reports, support data analysis and quality verification, and assist manuscript preparation. Clinical and Research Support: Coordinate appointments and assist with research medical procedures (brain MRI, cardiac echocardiography, eye exams, vital signs assessments, blood testing, drug administration), monitor patient care delivery under study protocols, uphold Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and all ethical and regulatory requirements. Education and Training: Provide education to nursing, medical, and research staff on study‑specific procedures and general trial conduct, offer guidance to parents and families, maintain required certifications (GCP, REDCap, Tri‑Council Policy Statement TCPS2). Regulatory and Administrative Support: Assist preparation and submission of study protocols, amendments, and annual renewals to the Research Ethics Board; support Health Canada documentation and grant applications; contribute to process improvement and quality assurance activities. Education & Experience Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in health sciences or a related field (Bachelor’s degree an asset). Work Experience: Minimum one (1) year of clinical research experience. Languages: Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written). Required Skills Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. High degree of autonomy, initiative, and ethical judgment. Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities. Multitasking and managing time‑sensitive priorities effectively. Technical Proficiency Competent in MS Office (Word, Excel); familiarity with REDCap and database management; familiarity with MRI and ultrasounds. Assets Prior experience with randomized clinical trials. Knowledge of international, federal, and provincial regulations governing clinical research (ICH‑GCP). Additional Information Status: Temporary, full‑time (35‑hour workweek). Pay Scale: $44,408.00 – $82,427.80 (commensurate with education & work experience). Work Shift: Variable Schedule.
