The position liaises with the Ministry of Health, other health regulatory authorities both within BC and across Canada, Doctors of BC, Health Match BC and other national and international offices external to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC).Duties and responsibilitiesDuties include but are not limited to the following:create certificates of professional conduct (CPCs)maintain and update the registration department CPC policy and process manualbe the primary contact with registrants and CPSBC staff regarding CPC inquirieslog requests for CPCsreview registrant files in search of applicable data for CPCprepare CPCscoordinate CPC and additional confidential information for registrantsmaintain processes including a bring-forward system to ensure a timely completion of requests for CPCsreceive incoming CPCs from other jurisdictionsreview incoming CPCsadd to applicants’ CEDAR files and distribute to file managerscreate wall certificatescreate undertakings for registrants (e.g. 25.3 undertakings)check reports and refer files to registration compliance when requiredassist with the annual licence renewal processliaise with others internally to plan and execute the annual application and renewal processprovide telephone and email assistance to registrants during the renewal periodassist with follow up of a series of questionsissue licences for physicians licensed for independent practiceupon receipt of approved file, complete quality assurance checks in iMIScomplete class changegenerate new registrant letter, encrypt, and email a copy to the physicianfinalize and add document to CEDARrespond to associated correspondence, emails and phone calls from applicants, registrants and third partiesother duties as requiredSkills and qualificationsRequired skills and qualifications include:high school graduation plus a minimum of one year post-secondary education with training in administrative/secretarial practices or an equivalent combination of education and experiencedemonstrated high level of initiative, time management and organizational abilityability to meet deadlinesexperience drafting minutes and correspondenceexcellent communication skills, both written and verbalexcellent editing and proofreading skillsattention to detail and a high level of accuracyworking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPointThe compensation range for this position is $42,947 to $53,684 per year.The College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia has been recognized as one of BC's top employers since 2011 and as a certified Living Wage Employer in BC since 2025.
