Dr. Arun Seth’s laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven postdoctoral candidate with a keen interest in cancer bioinformatics, specifically within the context of prostate cancer biomarker research. Our primary research focus revolves around gaining a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying prostate cancer progression and metastasis. The laboratory specializes in the study of cell signaling and functional genomics in prostate cancer, with a particular emphasis on the roles of miRNAs. We employ cutting-edge technologies, including Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) systems and Nanostring's nCounter analysis system, to evaluate prostate cancer biomarkers. Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for: Utilizing and integrating various methodologies, software, computational tools, and databases to explore the molecular intricacies of cancer. Identifying and validating novel biomarkers for personalized medicine in prostate cancer. Proficiently utilizing cloud-based data software platforms for scalable and flexible analysis. Conducting genomics and expression data analysis across multiple platforms, including NGS systems, Nanostring's nCounter Analysis System, and the ROSALIND software platform. Collaborating closely with molecular/cell biologists and clinician scientists. Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess: A Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or a related field. Strong programming skills in languages like Python, R, or Perl. Proficiency in using bioinformatics tools and databases. Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization. A minimum of one to two years of relevant postdoctoral experience, complemented by a proven track record of high-quality publications. A strong grasp of biological concepts and experimental methods commonly used in molecular biology and cancer biology. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in advanced English.
