**Position Description**:
**Post-Doctoral Research Fellow**
**Earliest start date**: October 1st, 2024.
**Length of contract**: 1 year, with a possibility of extension.
**Here¿s What We Offer**:
- Interdisciplinary environment, with expertise and close collaborators in core ML, chemistry and biology, as well as industrial ties.
- Access to computational resources from SickKids Research Institute, internal GPUs, and Vector Institute clusters.
- Engagement with the Vector Institute and Acceleration Consortium ecosystems.
- Play a key role in a mission-driven research program.
**Here¿s What You Will Need**:
- PhD in a machine learning-related discipline or a biology-related discipline with a strong computational focus.
- Publication track record in top machine learning and/or computational biology conferences and journals.
- Strong programming skills in Python, demonstrated by completed projects, ideally with publicly available repositories for authored papers.
- Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Experience developing and training deep learning models.
**Assets (at least some of the below)**:
- Experience working with biological and chemical data.
- Experience with generative models, in particular for small molecule generation.
- Experience with active learning.
- Experience with multi-fidelity ML methods.
- Familiarity with docking, molecular dynamics, and ML approximations.
- Experience with foundational models and/or multi-modal contrastive learning.
- Interest in the biology of aging.
- Potential applicants are asked to provide, in addition to CV, two reference letters, brief research statement (up to one page), code sample and up to three selected publications._
