The Opportunity We are seeking a Payroll & Reconciliations Specialist to join our HR Center of Excellence team for a 4‑month assignment. Reporting to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, you will manage year‑end reconciliations, audits, internal and external reporting, T2200 issuance, and other multi‑company payroll administration. Your responsibilities will include payroll processing, HRIS data entry, employee benefits administration, and maintaining accurate employee records. Responsibilities Perform year‑end reconciliations and internal & external reporting. Monitor changes to payroll legislation across Canadian provinces, especially Quebec, for year‑end updates. Conduct GL account reconciliations and internal reporting. Issue and process T2200 forms. Provide backup to the manager and participate in research, special projects, and ad‑hoc reports. Manage the full payroll cycle for multi‑province, biweekly payrolls for salary and hourly employees (ADP WFN). Prepare terminations, manual checks, and ROEs as needed. Administer employee benefit programs, including record additions, changes, and terminations. Process third‑party payments such as garnishments, RRSP, and pension plans. Ensure timely completion of monthly regulatory filings (WCB, EHT). Respond to internal department inquiries regarding payroll and benefit matters promptly and courteously. Requirements CPA Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification. Extensive payroll year‑end accounting knowledge. Advanced knowledge of all required legislation, including ESA. Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel. Preferably experienced with ADP WFN. 5–7 years of administrative experience in payroll or equivalent. Detail‑oriented, motivated, and deadline‑driven. Able to work calmly and effectively in a fast‑paced environment while handling confidential information with discretion. Works independently as well as in a team.
