We are looking for a client first mindset with attention to detail to join our team as Customs Rater.Reporting to Director Customs, the Customs Rater will be responsible for managing the import clearance process from A to Z. This includes data entry, classification, communication with CBSA, and client service. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, efficiency and client satisfaction in every transaction.Job DutiesAccurately prepare and process customs documentation for release and final accountingClassify goods using Canadian HS codes and apply any applicable regulations (duties, SIMA, surtax etc)Liaise with CBSA, carriers, freight forwarders, and clients to ensure timely release/delivery of shipmentsCollaborate with logistics partners and suppliers to ensure timely deliveryMonitor shipment statuses and proactively resolve delays or issues.Maintain up to date knowledge of customs laws, regulations and industry changesProvide exceptional client service by answering inquiries in a timely and professional mannerAssist with client and CARM onboardingOther duties as assigned.Requirements 2 – 4 years of experience in a Customs brokerage and logistics.Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) OR CTCS a strong assetStrong knowledge of CBSA Regulations and import procedures Understanding of SIMA and trade agreementsStrong written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of CARM and upcoming changesGood understanding of global supply chain and logistics processExcellent attention to detail Proficiency in MS Office, with intermediate Excel skills preferredTeam player and able to work with diversified teams.Problem solving skills
