If you are looking to build a meaningful career with a company that prioritizes people and performance, Paladin is the place to grow.Based in Vancouver, you may be required to travel to job sites throughout the region.Responsibilities (General Accountabilities)Install, program, configure security systems and commissioning, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, intrusion alarms, and fence detection systems, in accordance with industry standards and client specifications.Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure continued functionality and reliability; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.Collaborate with clients to understand security needs, provide expert guidance, and offer solutions tailored to their requirements; maintain exceptional customer satisfaction through effective communication and professionalism.Maintain accurate records of system installations, maintenance activities, and repairs; prepare and execute detailed reports and acceptance test plans to meet SLAs and contracts.Train clients and end-users on operation of security systems to maximize effectiveness and ease of use.Stay up-to-date with advancements in security technology, regulations, and industry best practices; pursue training and certifications to improve technical skills.Adhere to safety regulations and compliance standards related to installation and maintenance.Administrative duties including project updates to Project Managers and filing all project documentation.On-call duties may be required before/after regular hours or on non-scheduled days.Mentor colleagues, offering guidance in testing, fine-tuning, and optimizing equipment for peak efficiency; lead and mentor team members as needed.Design systems and layout; lead projects at a site level and manage a team of junior technicians as necessary.Other duties as required.Required Qualifications5+ years of experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry.Progressive experience in a technical role within the integrated security or low-voltage industries.Programming experience (essential for senior positions).Ability to work 50% to 70% of the time on night shifts.Previous experience leading installations at the site level.Valid TQ certification.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in the use of relevant tools and equipment.Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.Preferred QualificationsVendor certification in low voltage systems (e.g., LENEL, GENETEC, MILESTONE, AVIGILON, AMAG, Keyscan, Kantech, SENSTAR, HANWHA, BOSCH, DSC, and others).Postsecondary training in electronics or equivalent (asset).Professional CompetenciesProper hand and power tool operations and safety.Ability to solve practical problems with minimal supervision.Ability to organize workload for effective implementation.Ability to complete projects on time and on budget.Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group settings.Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.Ability to function as an effective team member and adapt as the organization evolves.Physical DemandsRegularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. Frequent use of hands for handling objects and typing. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights over 1.8 m (6 feet).Working ConditionsExposed to outdoor weather conditions and job sites; travel may be required. May work in typical office environments and occasionally encounter construction equipment.
