Overview:

To ensure the efficient functioning of the Salad Bar department, providing customers with the best quality products and ensuring courteous, timely customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and supervise all Salad Bar staff to secure efficient and courteous customer service.
  • Respond immediately to any customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times.
  • Maximize sales and gross profit, ensuring sales goals and budgets are met.
  • Organize and set up the department, ensuring proper signage is received, made up, and put up correctly.
  • Maximize reprocessing daily within the Produce department, effectively assisting the Produce Manager in minimizing shrink.
  • Order, receive, inventory, and display merchandise.
  • Hire part-time staff and train new employees.
  • Schedule all Salad Bar clerks ensuring strict control of wage costs.
  • Interpret and administer Company policy and ensure compliance with the union contract.
  • Ensure the maintenance of equipment as well as the safety and sanitation of the department.
  • Other duties as required.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:

  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours including days, evenings, night shifts, and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Three to five years’ experience in the retail Produce industry.
  • Prior management experience is a definite asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma.
