Senior Director – Product Management

Holt Executive are partnered with a leading Global Satellite and Space leader that provides reliable and secure satellite-delivered voice and high-speed data communications solutions to broadcast, telecommunications, corporate and government customers worldwide. Their Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network is revolutionising global broadband connectivity.
Our partner is seeking a Senior Director – Product Management to oversee the strategy and roadmap for products and services within a global satellite network. You will lead efforts to define offerings across various target markets, including enterprise, telecommunications, aviation, maritime, and government sectors and coordinate both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful product launches.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Director – Product Management:
Market and Customer Insight:
- Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer challenges, and new growth opportunities.
- Engage directly with enterprise and government clients to gather actionable insights, validate product concepts, and refine offerings based on real-world needs.
- Develop and execute a visionary product strategy that aligns with the mission and growth objectives, driving innovation and market leadership.
- Create and prioritise a dynamic product roadmap that adapts to emerging opportunities, evolving market demands, and technological advancements.
- Manage the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through market launch, ensuring agility, rapid iteration, and overall profitability.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to create cutting-edge satellite telecom products and solutions that meet market demands.
- Champion and promote product offerings to potential clients, serving as a key advocate and evangelist.
- Support training for sales and sales engineering teams of product offerings.
- Assist in the development of customised solutions for strategic customer needs, ensuring tailored support.
- Collaborate with the legal team to draft and refine sales and support contract documents, ensuring they align with product offerings and customer expectations.
- Oversee the management of the standard rate card for the product catalogue.
- Adjust pricing strategies in response to market changes and evolving business needs.
- Build and lead a high-performance, agile product management team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Mentor team members, driving their professional growth and ensuring the achievement of ambitious product goals.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure product initiatives are aligned with strategic business objectives.
- Clearly communicate product plans, progress, and performance metrics to all relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and manage the product budget, making strategic decisions to optimise resource allocation and ensure financial sustainability.
- Monitor and analyse the sales and profitability of products and service offerings, using data-driven insights to enhance overall performance.
- Ensure all product offerings comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards, with a particular focus on satellite communications and government contracts.
- Stay at the forefront of technology and industry trends, driving continuous innovation and product improvement.
- Adapt quickly to changing market conditions and evolving customer needs, maintaining a startup mindset.
- At least 10 years relevant experience.
- Experience in product management role in telecom sector serving enterprise and government markets; satcom knowledge is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Proven ability to manage and deliver innovative product solutions in a fast-paced, growth company setting.
- Deep understanding of communications technology and its application to enterprise and government markets, especially in satcom context.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Experience in market analysis, customer engagement, and agile product development.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial performance analysis.
- Fluent in English.
- Authorised to work in Canada.
- Occasional travel (about once in 2 months) is required to the offices, conferences, and trade shows.
