The YMCA of Cape Breton is looking for a driven leader with a strong commitment to performance excellence to join our team as Executive Director of the Employment Services/Nova Scotia Works Division of the YMCA of Cape Breton. p>The YMCA of Cape Breton Nova Scotia Works (NSW) Employment Services Centres offer an integrated bundle of employment services to help Nova Scotians understand, prepare for and meet the needs of the provincial labour market. Additionally, we provide services to support employers in recruiting, managing and developing the talent they require to be more productive in the global economy.

As Executive Director of the Employment Services/Nova Scotia Works Division of the YMCA of Cape Breton, you will provide strategic leadership in the oversight and development of the Employment functions across Cape Breton Island in the communities of Sydney, New Waterford, Glace Bay, Port Hawkesbury, Inverness and St. The Executive Director is accountable for the direct administration of all employment services agreement with government partners.Provide leadership to policy and program development, evaluation, liaison and relationship building with Federal and Provincial funders that provide support to the Employment Services/Nova Scotia Works Division of the YMCA of Cape Breton.Foster a culture of excellence and high performance through departmental areas ensuring YMCA as a responsive, quality, inclusive Employment Service provider.Develop and implement employment initiatives according to project/funder guidelines.Remain current on local labour market issues to support development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum, opportunities, and resources.Develop and implement policies and procedures pertaining to Employment Centre services.Establish and monitor Employment Centre services standards. Assess service delivery model to ensure client needs are being met.Monitor and evaluate program outcomes to ensure contract targets are being attained.Develop and maintain partnerships and networks with Government Departments, Community agencies and groups.Manage proposal development and contract negotiation processes.Provide leadership to Operations Managers and a staff of 50+ in YMCA Employment Services offices throughout Cape Breton Island.Post-secondary degree in Social Service, Business, or related field 5-8 years senior management experience; experience in Employment Service an asset Proven track record in developing and delivering responsive, quality community programs Demonstrated ability to foster high performance teams Extensive working knowledge of local labour market issues Extensive working knowledge of federal and provincial programs related to employment and training Demonstrated commitment to talent development and quality Strong Change Management and Project Management skills Experience developing business plans, budgets, proposals, reports, HR policies and procedures.Understanding of inclusionary practice, ethical decision making and respect for diversity and confidentiality.Experience in planning and managing large operation budgets

Note: Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check/ Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
