Executive Director, Centre of Excellence for Healthy Aging

Cape Breton University is seeking a highly qualified Executive Director to lead the Centre of Excellence for Healthy Aging. This is a full-time limited term position for approximately 11 months.
The successful candidate will oversee the Centre's goal to create collaborative networks of researchers, practitioners, students, and strategic partners to engage in health research and innovative initiatives aimed at ensuring excellent quality of life for Nova Scotians as they age.
The Centre of Excellence for Healthy Aging is a collaborative research initiative to advance research in healthy aging and inform evidence-based healthy practices for rural, semi-rural, post-industrial, and Indigenous communities across Nova Scotia, Canada, and around the world.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the Centre's goal to create collaborative networks of researchers, practitioners, students, and strategic partners.
- Lead health research and innovative initiatives aimed at ensuring excellent quality of life for Nova Scotians as they age.
- Act as liaison for sponsors, applicable research ethics boards, government authorities, the CEHA Advisory committee, and CBU departments.
- Support CBU's overarching strategic healthcare initiative, including the development of clinical research trial capacity.
- 3 years or more experience working in a clinical trial research setting.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting research and/or development in health sciences.
- Experience with creation and management of standard operating procedures.
- Experience managing Health Canada regulated interventional clinical research trials.
- 5 years of experience managing business processes, leading improvement initiatives, and overseeing teams of analysts.
- Leadership experience in a business, organization, or centre.
- Experience working in a university setting and providing support to students and/or faculty.
- Experience working in a diverse multidisciplinary setting, including medical, public, and private industry, and academic.
