Auto Cad Designer/Permit Coordinator

Full time

Location: Hamilton, Ontario Area

An integrator of material handling products for distribution centers is seeking a Designer/Permit Coordinator who will fit into a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Based in Burlington, Ontario, 3D serves clients such as Amazon, UPS, and Home Hardware in locations across the country.

This candidate will work in conjunction with the sales and design teams to assist with producing AutoCAD layout drawings as well as handling all facets of the permitting process that we undertake on behalf of our clients.

Hours of Work: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

This is an in-office position; p>

The Ideal Candidate: Someone with 1-3 years of experience fluent with AutoCAD and experience coordinating permits with various municipalities, specifically someone who has worked with construction permits.

Core Duties:

  1. Permitting

Coordinating with our clients, municipal building departments, and the sales team to arrange for the submission of permit documents.

Subcontracting outside engineering to seal structural drawings required for the permits.

Visiting sites to ensure the installations are in compliance with the engineered drawings.

Arranging for final inspections with engineers and city building departments.

  1. AutoCAD Designing

Working with our sales and design team to create layout drawings using AutoCAD.

Making site visits to client locations to establish building parameters and evaluate existing rack layouts.

On larger, more complicated projects, participating with members of the sales team on presentations of the layouts to our customers.

  1. Project Management

Assisting the sales team in processing orders – creating purchase orders, following up with vendors, and coordinating installers.
