As an organization we are committed to optimizing our skilled resources, emphasizing professional development, and encouraging knowledge sharing across the company.Job SummaryAs the senior project coordinator (5+ years of project coordination experience), you will work closely with the project manager to ensure that the project(s) progresses according to the set schedule and within budget, as well as meet the high-quality standards.While the initial project placement will be on the Etobicoke Creek bridge replacement in Mississauga, upon project completion the senior project coordinator will need to be open to mobility within the province of Ontario. (LOA provided.)ResponsibilitiesResponsible for material takeoffs, quantities and orderingTrack project progress against budgets and schedulesResponsible for quality control, reporting and project documentationMonitor project work according to technical specifications and schedulesSupport Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager and site Superintendent as requiredLiaise with client representatives, consultant, and subcontractors and ensure all information is kept up to dateAttend project meetings and take part in project planningPrepare meeting agendas, minutes and weekly work schedulesProcure subcontractors / suppliers and negotiate their terms of agreementWork with project personnel to solve challenges and recommend solutionsAssist field staff with drawing reviews and quantity take offsLiaise with regulating authorities on environmental and health and safety issuesResolve on-site technical issuesReview and transmit shop drawings and other submittalsManage change notices and change ordersPrepare RFIs, TMRs, and work procedures / methodologiesConduct QA/QC inspections and ensure compliance with CDB’s Quality Management PlanPrepare progress paymentsUnion workers hiring and lay offsOther responsibilities as requiredQualifications RequiredEducationDiploma in Civil Engineering Technician / Technologist or equivalent in experienceCertifications / LicensesCurrent Driver's LicenceTechnical Knowledge And ExperienceRegulations and policies to ensure compliance through reporting and administrationProficiency in reading drawings, plans and specificationsKnowledge of current construction practices and methodologiesAuto CAD, Microsoft OfficeBudget preparationKnowledge of Health and Safety federal and provincial regulationsExperience5+ years of experience in Heavy CivilCore CompetenciesAn out-going team playerExceptional communication skills, oral and writtenAccountabilityJob Specific CompetenciesAnalytical and problem solvingProficiency with planning and follow upInitiativeWorkplace Health and Safety AwarenessAssetsBilingual at English and French an assetMS ProjectPrevious Experience on bridge and dams projectsWork ConditionsUp to 50 hours a weekMobility for various assignments in OntarioWillingness and ability to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on timeTravelFrequent travel to the site location(s) located throughout OntarioOur Commitment To Diversity, Equity & InclusionWe respect and value our differences.
