About the Role

The LNG Canada project is currently nearing the end of the Execute phase for Phase 1 and is maturing towards operations. Supporting the business during the Operate Phase will be the Risk-Assurance and Reporting Team. This team will work as an integrated unit to provide risk management, performance management, assurance and reporting across all levels of the Venture.

The Risk/Insurance, and Performance Lead will support the entire Venture with integrated performance management coupled with risk management and associated insurance policies. Through these activities the individual is expected to drive focus on value creation, protection, and risk mitigation.

The individual will work in conjunction with the Assurance Coordinator (to ensure assurance events are aligned with key corporate risks), and the Reporting Lead (to ensure performance management is effective and accurate). Together, this team, in concert with the entire Finance organization, will play a key role in overall Corporate Governance.

  • Provide Finance expertise and support to the asset finance team in going through Commissioning and Start-up (CSU) and preparing for full operations of a multibillion-dollar project.
  • Provide analytical capacity to finance, value & risk assessment throughout the contracting process for new operations phase contracts.
  • Support planning and budgeting processes and financial assurance events for CSU and operations.
  • Ability to positively influence people, effectively drive work processes and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Ability to drive execution and stretch the performance of people with a wide range of capabilities.
  • Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to Diversity and Inclusion throughcollaboration across functional and cultural boundaries.

You will use your expertise to:

Integrated Performance Management:

  • Lead the development and implementation of LNG Canada's Integrated Performance Management Framework.
  • Oversee the design and maintenance of the corporate scorecard, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate performance review processes, including quarterly business reviews and annual performance assessments.
  • Coordinate with the relevant teams to integrate performance metrics with reporting.
  • Lead the preparation of quarterly performance reports for JV Partners as per JVA Schedule L.
  • Support the leadership team on strategic initiatives, analysis, and develop action plans to achieve top quartile performance in risk and performance management.

Risk Management:

  • Serve as Risk Management Lead for LNG Canada (whole venture) and risk advisor to leadership teams.
  • Develop, support, and manage the Corporate Risks and relevant System(s) driving mitigation actions to minimize exposure or advise coverage where applicable.
  • Support, where necessary, risk assessments/workshops/CSRA’s with Brownfield or Expansion projects.
  • Coordinate the work of Risk Management Focals across the organization.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy in capturing, modeling, and documenting risk sources, mitigations, and impacts.

Insurance Management:

  • Oversee the Insurance Program in LNGC, both construction and operational.
  • Manage the Brokerage contract and supervise the placement of Operational Insurance.
  • Serve as the focal point for the JVPs Insurance Working Group, managing alignment on insurance-related topics.
  • Drive insurance premiums down through risk management initiatives and annual roadshows with lead markets.
  • Supervise claims management and ensure proper accounting for disproportional premium charges and claims.
  • Develop and implement the Insurance strategy for the Expansion Project.

Stakeholder Management and Communication:

  • Act as a point of expertise in the venture for performance, risk, and insurance-related issues.
  • Facilitate awareness in LNGC of integrated performance and risk management approaches.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including JV Partners, on performance and risk management matters.
  • 10-15 years of relevant progressive experience in Risk Management, performance, and Insurance management.
  • Strong business partnering experience, preferably in project or asset setting.
  • Commercial curiosity to fully understand and explore value opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels throughout the organization, and experience participating in cross-functional initiatives or projects.
