Microelectronics Process Engineer

Job Purpose: As part of a fast-growing company providing optical transceiver solutions to the Aerospace and Defense market, you will manage, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes in our production environment - embracing advanced RF, optical, and microelectronic components, modules, and sub-systems. In collaboration with members of the Engineering and Production teams, you will be involved in defining technical requirements, qualifying assembly methodologies, and providing staff training. p>Responsibilities
- Develop processes related to the assembly of Optical and Microelectronic modules, such as: SMT, flip chip assembly, epoxy dispensing, high accuracy die-bonding, wire-bonding, opto-electronic sub-assemblies (active and passive).
- Support research and development of new technologies related to advanced RF, optical, and microelectronic manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot and analyze manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical guidance to the production team.
- Lead Statistical Process Controls in manufacturing.
- Qualify and transfer into production new manufacturing processes.
- Engineering degree.
- 5+ years' experience in a Process or Manufacturing Engineering role.
- In-depth knowledge of optical and microelectronic technologies and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with SolidWorks.
- Experience in programming high-end automated assembly equipment (dispensers, die-bonders, wire-bonders, optical-aligners, etc.) - an asset.
- Strong leadership and strong communication skills including technical documentation, written reports and proposals, development and delivery of presentations, and the ability to listen to and communicate effectively with customers and vendors.
- Experience with industrial automation processes - an asset.
