About the Position:

Reporting to the People & Culture Department, the Training & Development Specialist - Equiton Living will be responsible for designing, organizing, delivering training programs and facilitating workshops that enhance Equiton Living employee skills, knowledge, and performance. This role will collaborate with Equiton Living management and staff to ensure they are well-equipped to succeed in their roles.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Implement comprehensive training programs aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the operations team and Regional Property Managers to identify training needs and requirements – conduct comprehensive needs assessments as required.
  • Create training materials, including manuals, presentations, videos, and online modules, using best practice instructional methods and techniques.
  • Coordinate training schedules, venues, equipment, and resources to ensure smooth delivery of training sessions.
  • Facilitate training sessions in-person or virtually, maintaining engagement and fostering an interactive learning environment.
  • Facilitate interactive group discussions, activities, and roleplaying exercises to enhance engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through feedback mechanisms, assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Update and revise training materials as necessary to reflect changes in policies, procedures, or industry standards.
  • Track attendance and maintain accurate training records.
  • Participate in the onboarding process by delivering training sessions to new hires and helping them transition smoothly into their roles.
  • Provide ongoing support to employees post-training, addressing any questions or challenges they may encounter.
  • Maintain the Dayforce training database, generate reports on training activities, and ensure all records are kept up to date.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods and ability to research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable presenting to groups and facilitating discussions.
  • Effective time management, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • A proactive and results-driven mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (approximately 2-3 days to properties).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 2-4 years of previous working experience in property management (teaching, training, customer service, or HR related role is an asset).
  • Knowledge of Yardi (property management and real estate software) is an asset.
  • Proven experience as a Training & Development Specialist or a similar role.
  • Training & Development certification is an asset.
