Job Description

We currently have an opening for an Instrumentation and Controls (Automation) Engineer or Technologist in either Vancouver, Victoria, or Kelowna office to join our growing team.

  1. Preparing control architect and process control narratives alongside the process engineers.
  2. Analysis, design, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems installations. Installations may include advanced process controls, distributed control systems, drives, program logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, human/machine interfaces (HMI), programming, and all associated work related to infrastructure and building projects.
  3. Supporting business development activities of the company.
  4. Preparing design reports at different design stages.
  5. Supervising, mentoring and coordination of the engineering work for junior staff.
  6. Conducting site visits during construction and commissioning of the facilities and preparing reports.
  7. Overseeing the drawing production and preparing specifications for systems to be included in tender packages.
Job Requirements

What you bring to the table:

  1. An undergraduate degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  2. 5+ years of progressive experience is preferred.
  3. Registered, or eligible for immediate registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC or AstBC.
  4. Demonstrates leadership qualities and ability to work independently.
  5. Demonstrates the ability to work with a team of professionals in a complex environment, dealing with multiple projects and clients.
  6. Demonstrated experience with PLC programming in different environments and HMI configuration.
  7. Experience in marketing and business development.
  8. Thorough understanding of piping and instrumentation drawings, process control narratives and ISA standards.
  9. Committed team player and self-motivated.
  10. Experience with Revit MEP and Elecdes Suite is an asset.
  11. Proven technical skills and attention to detail.
  12. Knowledge of electrical service and motor control centers.
  13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations.

The salary range for this position is $79,040.00 to $108,160.00 and is commensurate with experience relative to this position.
