Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Exoplanet Science

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team at the National Research Council (NRC) in Victoria, Canada.
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will play a key role in leading the testing and optimization of CAL2, a facility-class focal plane wavefront sensor, for on-sky operations at the Gemini North Observatory.
You will collaborate with the GPI2 science team on groundbreaking discoveries and contribute to the development of advanced star-blocking coronagraph masks to rapidly measure and correct optical aberrations directly in the instrument science focal plane.
This is an exciting opportunity for a young researcher to take a leadership role in enabling a new era of exoplanet science and contributing to the advancement of high-contrast direct imaging techniques.
To be successful in this role, you should have obtained a PhD (or equivalent) within the past three years or expect to complete your PhD within 6 months of appointment.
Fellows will work in a lab under the direct supervision of an NRC researcher and will have the opportunity to develop their skills in research design, data analysis, and scientific writing.
The estimated salary range for this position is $82,338 - $114,354 per year, which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
