We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Controls (Automation) Engineer or Technologist to join our team in Vancouver, Victoria, or Kelowna office.

This is a full-time permanent position that requires a strong understanding of electrical instrumentation and controls.

Responsibilities
  1. Preparing control architect and process control narratives alongside process engineers.
  2. Analysis, design, testing, and commissioning of instrumentation and control systems installations.
  3. Supporting business development activities of the company.
  4. Preparing design reports at different design stages.
  5. Supervising, mentoring, and coordination of engineering work for junior staff.
  6. Conducting site visits during construction and commissioning of facilities and preparing reports.
  7. Overseeing drawing production and preparing specifications for systems to be included in tender packages.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a strong educational background and relevant work experience in the field of electrical instrumentation and controls.

  1. An undergraduate degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  2. 5+ years of progressive experience is preferred.
  3. Registered, or eligible for immediate registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC or AstBC.
  4. Demonstrates leadership qualities and ability to work independently.
  5. Demonstrates the ability to work with a team of professionals in a complex environment dealing with multiple projects and clients.
  6. Demonstrated experience with PLC programming in different environments and HMI configuration.
  7. Experience in marketing and business development.
  8. Thorough understanding of piping and instrumentation drawings, process control narratives, and ISA standards.
  9. Committed team player and self-motivated.
  10. Experience with Revit MEP and Elecdes Suite is an asset.
  11. Proven technical skills and attention to detail.
  12. Knowledge of electrical service and motor control centers.
  13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations.
