Position Function**:Oversees and performs functions related to the design, maintenance, documentation, programming and implementation of all pump and PRV control and SCADA systems.
- **Duties**:
**A. Principal Duties Involve**:
- Coordinate, assign, review and participate in the work of up to four qualified electricians, technicians and/or apprentices involved in the installation, service and repair of electronic/electrical systems.
- Is responsible for schedules, procedures and meeting established performance and safety standards.
- Provide for employee training and input to employee performance appraisals.
**B. Other Duties Include**:
- Participates in the design, review and estimation of electronic, electrical and SCADA systems as applied to work projects.
- Compiles related work reports, records and as built drawings.
- Consults with and co-ordinates with other outside agencies such as BC Hydro, consulting engineers, technicians, inspectors, and the general public.
- Prioritize and organize the work of the SCADA unit and service requests from Utilities Operations and other sections
- Develop and implement SCADA system software and hardware design as related to sanitary, storm and water stations
- Oversee and participate in the installation and maintenance of new and existing pump and PRV control panels, associated electrical services and SCADA systems.
- Carry out a preventative maintenance program for all pump and PRV station electronics and electrical equipment including SCADA systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation on pump and PRV stations including SCADA alarm and event histories.
- Evaluate and assess technical information on electronic and electrical equipment and make recommendations regarding their acquisition as they relate to SCADA.
- Create and modify design specifications for electronic or electrical equipment as specified by Underground Utilities Engineering.
- Review Engineering reports, drawings and proposals and make related recommendations.
- Create, update and maintain databases, technical drawings, inventory lists and documentation.
- Oversee and participate in the maintenance, repair and documentation of the City’s pipe viewing video equipment, rain gauges, flow meters and other associated electronic and electrical equipment as required.
- Prepare technical site inspection reports and arrange for testing and certification of electronics and electrical installations ensuring conformance to standard set by the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Prepare specifications and tender documents, job cost analysis, monitor project costs, progress reports and verify expenditures.
- Consult and coordinate with agencies such as other Municipal, Regional, Provincial, Federal or Public Utilities and the general public as they relate to SCADA.
