Compass Point Recruitment is thrilled to partner with a local manufacturer to recruit an Operations/Office Manager (manufacturing) to join their expanding team.
This is a newly created role designed to support the Operations Director in developing and delivering the annual Operations Plan.
With no direct people reports, this is an opportunity for you to get stuck into the operational functionalities of the business, from reviewing processes/policies to managing the ISO accreditations to supporting the creation of job descriptions; this role is packed with variety
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Operations Director to ensure compliance with ISO standards and other industry regulations, including conducting ISO audits and delivering relevant training.
- Develop internal standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve high-quality products and excellent service.
- Identify and implement processes to drive efficiency and productivity using lean manufacturing techniques.
- Design and implement training and development plans, and manage the performance management process for all staff.
- Lead and support the HR function, including job description creation, policy reviews, and maintaining staff records.
- Oversee Health and Safety within the building, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Maintain service contracts and inspection records, act as Fire Marshal, and ensure fire safety compliance.
- Support the implementation and development of IT systems to enhance engagement and productivity.
- Manage fleet and facilities, including liaising with utility companies.
- Order office supplies and factory consumables as needed.
- Experience managing/implementing ISO9001 and ISO14001 requirements is essential.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (qualifications desirable).
- Understanding of HR management, ideally including training and development program design.
- Proficiency in Health & Safety management within an organisation.
- Strong background in manufacturing operations.
- Excellent communication skills at all business levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building capability.
- Quick, initiative-driven response to arising situations.
- Passionate energy for teamwork and independent initiative.
- Positive attitude towards learning and development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload effectively.
- Attention to detail and accurate paperwork completion.
- Pride in presentation and organisational skills.

- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with a forward-thinking approach to technology.
- Flexible working hours: Monday - Thursday 8.30 - 5 & Friday 8.30 - 2.30pm (Flexi-hours negotiable).
