We have an opportunity for a Financial Analyst at our Cambridge, Ontario location.

JOB PURPOSE

Monitor all financial aspects of contracts which include project setup, budget changes and revenuerecognition. Prepare and issue sales invoice to customer and follow up on accountsreceivables. Accounting for F/X forward contracts as it relates to the project. Prepare weekly, monthly,quarterly forecasts, financial reports and variance analysis reports.

Functional relations with virtually every other department in the Company including Purchasing, Manufacturing, Legal, Engineering, Sales, Proposals, Project Accounting, Business Unit Manager s,etc. Communicate with external parties, including customers for invoicing status, externalauditors and other accounting groups within NPG.Communicates accounting standards to project management and other groups in regardsto revenue recognition.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Projects and Sales Orders


• Responsible for Fixed Price and Time & Material contracts (primarily long term, complexprojects or projects that may have a Joint Venture).
• Determine contract Revenue Recognition per ASC606.
• Accounting for F/X forward contracts as it relates to the project.
• Set up and maintain projects in SAP &Timberline.
• Upload Project Structures and Budgets to SAP.
• Prepare paperwork for contract changes (sell price and budget changes).
• Monitor budget, costs and cash flow; Budget vs. actuals.
• Complete month end accruals for revenue recognition or other project accruals that arerequired.
• Review month end revenue recognition results for projects and sales orders.
• Prepare monthly project variance reports as required.

Customer Invoicing


• Work with Project Manager to issue Contract milestone billings.
• Review cost reports and prepare sales invoices for customer including Time and MaterialBillings.
• Obtain documents to support cost-plus billings as well as reconcile WIP.
• Monitor customer invoicing vs. purchase order values and follow up on accountsreceivables.

Forecasting


• Monthly forecast for backlog projects, including bookings, revenue, actual cost, grossprofit, billings, receipts as well as treasury cash forecast.
• Work with Project Managers and Project Controls to forecast backlog projects throughcontract life cycle. This includes co-ordinating meetings with purchasing in order toforecast vendor purchases.
• Enter quarterly forecast in BPC and ensure the forecast is balanced in BPC. The forecastis completed for all assigned backlog projects, sales orders as well as New BusinessProjects. (This may include reviewing forecast for other business units).


Meeting Preparation


• Prepare documents for internal cost review meeting as follows; contract profit statement(hours and dollars), risk and opportunity list, CCN reports, billing schedule, cash flow,aged accounts receivable.
• Work with Project Manager to complete Risk and Opportunity list as well as Critical Issues.
• Provide documents for internal monthly reviews, i.e. project review meetings.

Additional Activities/Special Requests


• Provide information to internal and external auditors. This includes assisting the managerof project accounting and taking the lead and coordinating requests with various personnelin accounting and other departments.
• Ensure audit and SOX and COSO requirements are being followed.
• Provide input and update quarterly/yearly corporate templates.
• Review ACE requests and provide feedback to the manager of project accounting.
• Various account reconciliations, this may include reconciling data in various softwaresystems (Eg. SAP and BPC HR PROJ).


KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree or diploma in an accounting-related discipline complemented by a minimum of 5 yearshands-on accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Accountingdesignation or enrolment in an accounting designation program would be an asset.
• In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, mainly Excel. Knowledge SAofP would be an asset.
• Advanced experience of spreadsheet applications, data manipulation techniques, vlookup, formulas, macros.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
• Proven problem solving abilities.
• Good relationship-building skills with a commitment to supporting a team.

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]]at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[74,000]] and $[[111,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
