We are looking for an IT Project Controls Analyst for  a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.

Role Description
Our client is looking for an experienced IT Project Controls Analyst who will work with the department’s Project Managers to update and manage the IT budgeting and forecasting for IT Projects. This role will work primarily with cost management in SAP and ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

  • Executes the monthly/annual/ multi-year IT Project budgeting/ forecasting process for the IT organization (reconciliation, variance analysis, accruals)
  • Meets as frequently as required with PMs and IT Leadership team to review forecasts and financial changes to the IT Project Portfolio
  • Creates adhoc / monthly, quarterly, annual spend reports for PMs and IT Leadership team.
  • Assists with IT Portfolio Management processes.
  • Performs spend analysis of IT Projects budget.
  • Liaises with Accounting to determine appropriate financial treatment for IT projects and initiatives.
  • Updates Financials in ServiceNow for IT Projects
  • Create AFEs in SAP and track accruals.
  • Support miscellaneous project team requests and perform ad-hoc requests as required.

Required Skills and Experience
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a budgetary/accounting role working with an ERP Financial System and strong financial acumen.
  • 5 - 7 years of working knowledge/relevant experience within an IT department.
  • Must have strong experience with Cost Control.
  • Above average skills with SAP, ServiceNow, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to conflicting demands and rapidly changing priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Personal qualities: tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
