Project Cost Controller

The Calgary Airport Authority is seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate tracking and reporting of project costs, as well as providing financial planning and analysis support to our project managers.
Key Responsibilities:- Control and monitor project total expenditure, including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Analyze invoices to ensure correct products/services were received at the expected cost as per contract.
- Identify cost savings opportunities and process improvements.
- Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects, including variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress, and preparation of customer billing processes.
- Ensure effective project implementation and utilize productive reports from the creation of work breakdown structure (WBS) with the use of project management system to monitor the status of all purchases, invoicing, and delivery up to the closure of the project.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project cost control, financial management, or related field, with a minimum of 7 years of experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and Oracle ERP.
