The Population and Public Health Registered Nurse practices in accordance with relevant provincial legislation, nursing standards, BCCDC policies/standards, the code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives and the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), employer policies, and individual competencies. Provides nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, guidelines, and other controls on practice.

Working in the community setting, the Population and Public Health Registered Nurse provides testing and immunization services, education, and promotion to clients, including individuals, families, groups, and communities.

Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant and knowledge of current immunization practices; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid BC Driver's License.
