Job Title: Accounting Manager

Reports To: Controller

Department: Finance

Role Purpose: Provide strategic financial/accounting leadership to support the business in achieving financial targets. The incumbent will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing best practices in accounting. Tasks will include both Canadian and US Microart Entities.

Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Permanent full-time, on-site)

Key Responsibilities:

• AR Function
o Supervise AR administrator
o Oversee AR billing and collections and provide support when needed
o Respond to Client escalations and/or discrepancies.
o Oversee the prepayments, credits for clients, cash receipts (incl credit cards); be the back up for AR during AR admin time off;
o Assist with Customer Deposits account.

• GL Function
o Prepare and post monthly JE’s for Loans, Accruals, Prepaids, Insurance, Shareholder interest, bank charges, corporate taxes, JE for depreciation and maintenance of Fixed assets schedule; Balance sheet reconciliations and schedules on a monthly basis
o Prepare payroll journal entries on a bi-weekly basis; reconcile YE: T4 summary, T5s
o Corporate Credit Cards reconciliation and posting receipts on a monthly basis.
o Calculate monthly commissions for sales agents as per new process in place. Maintain commission schedule.
o Annual reconciliations – EHT & WSIB
o Prepare and remit monthly HST, ensure compliance with tax reporting and remittances; help register/remit QST tax.
o Assist with Year End Audit and other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
o Be ready to take the lead on projects that can work well in a changing environment and enjoy being part of a team.
o Assist with preparation of Budgets

Qualifications:
• Professional Designation (CPA/CGA/CMA) and/or a Bachelor degree plus minimum of
• 7-8 years manufacturing experience is required;
• Knowledge of general accounting standards
• 3+ years experience with Dynamics NAV or any Microsoft Dynamics is preferred
• Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and highly proficient with Excel formulas
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
