About the position The Master Trainer, Health-Care Provider Education supports the organization’s capacity to deliver standardized U-First® health-care provider training across the province to enhance the skills and knowledge of person-centered care practices among workers in long-term care. Master Trainers are responsible for providing training, coaching and support to health-care provider education facilitators, ensuring the seamless and effective delivery of the Society’s training program to a health-care audience. Master Trainers are also responsible for collaborating with the Provincial Coordinator, Health-Care Community of Practice to ensure program goals are achieved cohesively.

This role reports to the Manager, Health-Care Provider Education Delivery.
Master Trainer, Health-Care Provider Education
Contract:
Full time - 35 hours per week
Develop, coordinate and facilitate required training and ongoing opportunities for professional development, coaching and support to enhance the knowledge and skills of the organization’s health-care education facilitators.
Facilitate external train-the-trainer workshops to enhance health-care providers’ capacity to deliver U-First® training within their organization, as well as facilitating the standardized U-First® training for health-care providers.
Develop systems and processes for scheduling and monitoring staff participation and progress through mandatory facilitator training components and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Conduct ongoing evaluation of the health-care provider education program, ensuring compliance with evaluation and statistics procedures.
Support awareness of the health-care provider education program for the health-care sector through various outreach and awareness activities, including networking, attending events and developing content for the Society’s publications, website and other communication channels.
Maintain confidential client files, including recording training attendance and stakeholder engagement using Raiser’s Edge software.
Collaborate with the Manager, Health-Care Provider Education Delivery to support the development of an annual plan for implementing and delivering health-care provider training.
You have a post-secondary education or relevant degree in the health care, social work, education, gerontology or another related field. With a background in health care, social work, gerontology, or a related field, you have cultivated skills in adult education, group facilitation, and coaching professionals to achieve their goals.

Your strong organizational abilities enable you to manage training programs, support professional development, and ensure program objectives are met. You thrive in collaborative environments, building trusting relationships with community partners and health-care providers, while also working independently to achieve results.

You bring a passion for empowering others through education, and your knowledge of adult learning principles ensures engaging and effective delivery of training. 3 to 5 years of experience working within the health or social care sector with people living with dementia and/or their caregivers; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
~ Preference given to candidates with experience in group facilitation or delivering standardized training programs, and with experience working in direct care roles, such as long-term care.
~ Demonstrated knowledge of adult education best practices.
~ Experience in group facilitation and delivering presentations and education programs (virtual or in-person).
~ Experience delivering standardized education or training programs.
~ Ability to build trusting relationships with community partners and health-care providers.
~ Knowledge of seniors’ services, long-term care, and health care in B.C. is considered an asset.
~ Willingness to travel regularly within the province with flexibility for evening and weekend work.


Technical Qualifications
Proficient with technology, including LCD projectors, Zoom, and the Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
Ability to maintain confidential client files, including recording training attendance and stakeholder engagement using Raiser’s Edge software.
