HR Generalist

Why RBR?Since our start in the 70s, we've grown into a mid-sized oceanographic instrumentation design and manufacturing company in Kanata North, Canada's largest technology park. We're looking for an HR Generalist to support and grow our teams, embodying our core values of passion, teamwork, and integrity.
We are a small (but mighty) team of 3, and we are looking for someone who can jump into a wide range of HR projects and responsibilities, helping us drive a positive and high-impact culture.
What you'll do- Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Recruitment processes for technical and non-technical roles, as needed
- Onboarding & Off-boarding: Create a great onboarding experience for new hires, help them hit the ground running, and manage smooth and efficient off-boarding processes
- General HR: Immigration, policy development and procedure development, compensation reviews, performance reviews, learning and development, and ensure compliance with regulations
- Employee Relations: Build rapport with employees and managers, providing guidance and support
- HR Admin: Handle various administrative tasks, including maintaining employee records, managing our HRIS, organizing company training initiatives, and supporting benefits administration and other programs
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for optimization and help implement improvements, including drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Strong performance in HR roles, particularly in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and general HR support
- Exceptional communication skills, comfortable building rapport across all levels and writing to different audiences
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- College certificate or university degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Agility under pressure, level-headed when adapting to shifting priorities
- Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively
- A strong understanding of different tech tools and a curiosity to leverage them to the fullest
- A continuous learning mindset, keeping up-to-date with the latest HR trends and practices
- Specialization or a good understanding of compensation or immigration
- HR certifications (such as CHRP) or additional related credentials
- Experience with tools such as Jira/Confluence, ADP, GoogleSuite, MacOS, ATS (we use Recruitee), and Gen AI
