Moneris Field Technicians will be provided with a company vehicle to perform role duties.

As a Field Service Technician at Moneris, you'll bring technical expertise and a customer-focused approach to deliver an outstanding experience to our merchants. You'll support field operations and focus on installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing electronic devices at merchant sites in your assigned region. Location: You will be based in Ottawa and will work onsite at our merchant's location.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Team Lead, Field Operations.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Troubleshoot problems related to several equipment and peripherals such as computers, printers, networks, cash registers and points-of-sale systems.
  • Analyze problems and make recommendations to causes and corrective actions and always ensure that our merchants are satisfied with the issue resolution.
  • Install computers, printers, cash registers and points-of-sale systems and upgrade software.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with our merchants.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • Post-secondary education in electronics, IT or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered as a substitute for a diploma.
  • 1+ year of experience testing and solving technical problems.
  • Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small tools (hand and power).
  • Basic knowledge of network cabling will be considered an asset.
  • Occasionally work in confined spaces (squatting or at arm's length).
  • Knowledge of computers, general networking concepts, Internet and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people and calmly handle all kinds of situations, from routine to emergency.
  • Ability to adapt to variable schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays (schedules are always communicated in advance).
  • Valid provincial driver's license.
  • Bilingual in French and English (reading, writing and verbal).
