This role is a part-time position with the potential to lead to a full-time position with the Umami team alongside significant ownership and responsibility.
Umami Marketing is a results-driven Inbound Marketing agency based out of Vancouver, BC, Canada. We are a one-stop shop for small to medium-sized, mainly B2B technology businesses’ marketing needs to drive growth and success in their diverse marketplaces. Through an Inbound Marketing lens, we provide a wide range of services including marketing strategy development + execution, website development and overall project management for large initiatives. We’re passionate about marketing and excited for those who share that passion to join our team, accelerate their careers and be a part of ours and our client’s future successes.
Our clients are based mainly throughout North America and our team is located in various countries throughout the world. In this role you will have the opportunity to telecommute and work flexible hours.
In this role you will not only be leading the charge for many of our client accounts but you will be working in the heart of marketing for Umami itself to help drive our own growth Key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with clients to understand their business objectives and challenges
- Create Inbound Marketing Strategies and Plans that leverage Umami’s team and deliver successes
- Lead the execution the Strategies from the start finish for multiple clients concurrently
- Create and track against baselines to communicate results and unforgettable ROI
- Maintain accurate status reporting and communicate updates to Umami management
- Adopt and implement Umami project management practices to drive success in your projects
- Build out relevant, ever-changing buyer personas and client profiles
- Build and manage rich content / editorial calendar s for our clients that attracts a qualified audience to our owned properties (including blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, reports, webinars, infographics, etc.).
- Increase and generate new leads , including marketing-qualified leads, by converting site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead generation content (including offers).
- Optimize our marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and social channels.
- Perform audits and analysis on multiple tactics—find your measuring mojo
- Establish closed-loop analytics with sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity turns into customers, and continually refine our process to convert customers.
- Identify and help execute opportunities to grow client accounts and retainers

- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5+ years of inbound marketing and/or agency experience with a focus on organic SEO, content & email marketing , and paid advertising.
- Proficiency in marketing automation and blogging software in order to generate traffic, convert visitors into leads, and then nurture them (using dynamic workflows) into converted customers.
- Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an eagerness to seek the truth and use data to inform all decisions.
- Known as a people person with a sixth-sense ability to create clarity and execute flawlessly in environments with multiple stakeholders, diverse needs and competing priorities.
- Ability to synthesize lots of information, understand problems quickly and seamlessly navigate the team through them. A ction oriented yet thoughtful and thorough.
- You’re a thinker, you see opportunities where others don’t and you know what it means to understand and capitalize on them
- Strong knowledge of planning, project and risk management techniques and tools and a proven ability to organize teams around problems and projects and execute
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
- Account Management: Semi-ridiculous drive to serve clients. Create and demonstrate value. Memorize dogs/kids names. Know channel preferences. Keep the ball rolling despite all the inevitable challenges and complications of real life.
- Team-Building: No ropes course, but you must egolessly manage copywriters, designers, developers and promoters so we can get it all done and still have time to relax and enjoy ourselves.
- Attention to detail and never lose sight of the big picture
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Eagerness to follow industry best practices, tools and techniques and readily translate them into successful adoption by Umami to enhance our ability to achieve our mission and drive our client’s success
- Ability to create and measure campaigns in HubSpot, Pardot, or other marketing automation systems (workflows, forms, campaigns, content, etc.)
- Experience with conversion optimization, including A/B testing
Technical Experience
- Experience with HubSpot, MailChimp, Pardot, Marketo, other marketing platforms
- Google Analytics and GTM experience – cross-domain tracking, eCommerce tracking, and measurement protocol
- WordPress and similar CMS experience
- Salesforce and similar CRM experience
- HTML/CSS and other markup and scripting language experience is a bonus

Victoria has worked in entrepreneurial roles in the Vancouver tech community and has traveled and worked with businesses internationally.
