0.3 FTE: Recruitment Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and actively participate in all program functions, modeling a positive and creative “can-do” attitude, building flourishing collaborative relationships with employers and exemplifying proactive case management, resulting in enriching workplace training experiences and, ultimately, sustainable employment opportunities for participants
  • Build and maintain a robust and growing employer database
  • Conduct client assessments and determine eligibility for program requirements
  • Provide additional assessments based on the client’s needs to establish RWA
  • Work synergistically with clients to create individualized client-focused Service Plans
  • Review and update Service Plans to ensure appropriate job search steps are being met
  • Consistently reach out to businesses and organizations (utilizing various methodologies including direct cold calling, referral, LinkedIn contacts, scheduled presentation visits, guest-speaking at industry and association meetings, visiting career fairs) in community to recruit employers to facilitate placement matches with clients
  • Keep regular contact with matched employers and participants, ensuring vigilant follow up with clients and employers throughout the 90-day monitored experience following completion date to ensure participants are successful and employer questions and concerns are also addressed in a timely manner (supporting employers and trainees with solutions-based support)
  • Enter client data, and contract progress into Government tracking software system (i.e. Mobius)
  • Maintain accurate ongoing reporting and provide monthly reporting as per the contract outline and requirements
  • Assist in the development of promotional materials
  • Ensure on-site visits on/before match start date, and follow up visits where required, completing Monitoring Forms with each on-site visit
  • Evaluate and document conditions of terminated contracts; submit reports
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Utilize creativity to engage with the public, acting as an ambassador of the program and MCG Careers through various public relations, networking, and presentation opportunities to identify potential clients and referral sources
  • Identify and stay abreast of labour market trends/changes/demands through frequent contact with community stakeholders
  • Work with participants through 1-on-1 meetings, individual and group workshops, to prepare them for interviews with employers (including resume assistance, coaching, etc.) and market clients to employers
  • Meet with interested employers on-site, answer queries; assess health and safety; obtain required documents, Company Bio form
  • Negotiate & develop client WPT contracts as per discussions with the employer and ensure the policy is followed
  • Facilitate workplace conflict resolution between clients & employers during training and the follow-up period. Provide 1-1 coaching to clients on Essential Skills, and Job Search Tools & Techniques

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Certificate in Human Services related area 
  • Minimum 2 years of Leadership experience
  • Background in Recruitment/Placement/Marketing/Community Collaboration
  • Experience working in a client-based industry
  • Communication & problem-solving skills, exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Frontline experience working with clientele with barriers 
  • Current knowledge of the local Labour Market
