What You’ll Be Doing
The Senior Relationship Manager, Business Continuity Management is responsible for supporting the overall mandate of the Enterprise Business Continuity Management (EBCM) group through strategic and tactical process initiatives focused on supporting CIBC SBUs and LOBs in the strategic management of BCM. The mandate of this team is to ensure an effective enterprise BCM governance framework that is consistent with regulatory requirements and industry best practices/standards is developed, maintained and adhered to across the enterprise.
The position also contributes to the ongoing design, maintenance and cost effectiveness of the overall enterprise Crisis Management/Business Incident Management/Business Continuity Management Programs, recognizing the increasing importance of the management of business interruption risk in the environments in which CIBC operates. Responsibilities include contributions to operational and simulation testing. In the event of a major business interruption, the incumbent serves as an important member of the Enterprise Business Continuity Management (EBCM) team in the event of an incident.

How You’ll Succeed
- Program management - Coordinates and manages the preparation, testing and maintenance of business continuity plans within the designated business unit and functional groups, in accordance with CIBC’s BCM Policy, BCM Standards and Guidelines and procedures.
- Operational/Business Effectiveness - Actively participates as a member of the enterprise business continuity management team in the evolving design of the BCM program to meet CIBC’s recovery needs.
- Relationship Management - Maintain external relationships by working with other FIs as well as financial industry support groups (e.g., CBA).
- Business Continuity Management Support - Undertakes key BCM support role to senior management in the event of disaster.
Who You Are
- You demonstrate experience in: project, time, and organizational management with an ability to multi-task and deliver on a variety of planned initiatives and strategies.
- You’re a certified professional: Accreditation and certificate in BCM professional practices from either the Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI) or Business Continuity Institute (BCI).
- You’re digitally savvy: Excellent ability to integrate with multiple business units and corporate governance groups on complex issues.
