Job Summary

The Senior Relationship Manager, Business Continuity Management is responsible for supporting the overall mandate of the Enterprise Business Continuity Management (EBCM) group through strategic and tactical process initiatives focused on supporting CIBC SBUs and LOBs in the strategic management of BCM. The mandate of this team is to ensure an effective enterprise BCM governance framework that is consistent with regulatory requirements and industry best practices/standards is developed, maintained and adhered to across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the ongoing design, maintenance and cost effectiveness of the overall enterprise Crisis Management/Business Incident Management/Business Continuity Management Programs, recognizing the increasing importance of the management of business interruption risk in the environments in which CIBC operates.
  • Participate in operational and simulation testing.
  • Serve as an important member of the Enterprise Business Continuity Management (EBCM) team in the event of an incident.
  • Coordinate and manage the preparation, testing and maintenance of business continuity plans within the designated business unit and functional groups, in accordance with CIBC's BCM Policy, BCM Standards and Guidelines and procedures.
  • Actively participate as a member of the enterprise business continuity management team in the evolving design of the BCM program to meet CIBC's recovery needs.
  • Maintain external relationships by working with other FIs as well as financial industry support groups.
  • Undertake key BCM support role to senior management in the event of disaster.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate experience in project, time, and organizational management with an ability to multi-task and deliver on a variety of planned initiatives and strategies.
  • Accreditation and certificate in BCM professional practices from either the Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI) or Business Continuity Institute (BCI).
  • Excellent ability to integrate with multiple business units and corporate governance groups on complex issues.
