A2JBC is a collaboration of individuals and organizations committed to improving access to justice in BC. A2JBC seeks to be a catalyst for action that is collaborative, user-centred, experimental and evidence-based. Since 2015, A2JBC is chaired by the Chief Justice of BC and includes leaders of justice system organizations, system users and intersectoral representatives. A2JBC’s Leadership Group and the TFJS Collaborative are forums for adaptive leadership and collective reflection, which create aligned thinking and action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Logistical support: Work closely with the Strategic Coordinator and Collaborative Lead to support the design and execution of educational and memorable events and meetings that move forward provincial dialogues and influence stakeholders.
  • Relationship management: Connect with and keep track of new and existing volunteers and partners in a meaningful way. Creatively develop communication and appreciation methods and routines to encourage the growth of positive relationships, innovative actions, shared accountability and reflective practices.
  • Research, review and record keeping: Obtain, compile and extract information from diverse sources for the Strategic Coordinator’s preparation of documents such as briefs and proposals, proofread and edit such documents towards final versions, use effective tools (e.g. spreadsheets, charts, visuals) to monitor and present progress, as applicable.
  • File and document maintenance: Oversee how external and internal materials are organized in a virtual system so they can be easily located, referenced and shared.
  • Social media support: Follow a digital strategy to contribute to a social media post calendar, develop and test content ideas and compile monthly results.
  • Outreach and follow-up: Support engagement and audience development, including through the timely publication of blog posts and quarterly newsletters as well as timely response to email and social media messages and inquiries.
  • Capacity building support: Assist in collecting and curating development opportunities for volunteers, partners and stakeholders related to access to civil and family justice.

Qualifications

  • An interest in systems change and, specifically, centring system users, child and family well-being and Indigenous laws and principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, organizational and inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Drop Box and other communication and information management tools and willingness to learn how to use new tools.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and Twitter/X, with past experience with social media content design and management applications (e.g. Canva and Hootsuite) as an asset.
  • Administrative experience in the justice or non-profit sectors.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Social media management: 1 year (preferred)
  • Administrative experience: 2 years (required)
