Responsibilities
Process end-to-end payroll processing: Handle the complete payroll cycle for Calian employees, including processing pay, leave, and entitlements accurately and on time.
Prepare and submit remittances: Handle the preparation and submission of remittances, including deductions, health benefits, WSIB/WCB, and ROEs, to government agencies and other organizations.
Assist with system updates and compliance: Support updates and improvements to the payroll system, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
Handle payroll inquiries: Identify and respond to payroll inquiries, resolving discrepancies promptly and maintaining positive relationships with employees.
Special payroll runs: Prepare and execute special payroll runs as needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Contribute to process improvements: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the SAP payroll system to enhance efficiency.
Collaborate during audits: Follow policies and collaborate with auditors during annual audits to ensure compliance and accuracy of payroll practices.
Ensure compliance: Ensure that Calian's payroll practices adhere to all relevant CRA and Provincial government regulations.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
3 to 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
Proficiency in SAP and strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation.
Possession of or active progress towards a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification.
Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Additional Requirements
- Canadian Government Reliability Status level clearance required.
