Description:
The Powertrain Engine OBD Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing best practice calibration solutions and performing diagnostic verification testing and have the opportunity to develop new OBD strategies for engine and hybrid propulsion control systems. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  1. Manage all technical aspects of the OBD diagnostic calibrations to meet CARB regulations.
  2. Identify system requirements during system hardware design to insure a robust diagnostic system.
  3. Use standard instrumentation toolsets for data acquisition, storage, and analysis.
  4. Calibrate diagnostic thresholds to meet CARB regulations.
  5. Provide regular overview summaries and detailed reports on specific assignments, including timing projections.

  1. Experience in diagnostic systems calibration development.
  2. Experience using Matlab and Simulink/Stateflow.
  3. Basic understanding of electrified propulsion system hardware and function.
  4. Understanding of vehicle architectures and communication buses such as CAN / LIN, understanding of system and actuators used in an electrified vehicle.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and business acumen.
  6. Experience with OBD Calibration work.
  7. Experience with calibration or tuning of control algorithms/devices - specifically with INCA, Minitab, C++, and Visual Basic.

Experience Level: Entry Level.
