About
The Asset Remarketing Specialist plays a pivotal role, working in close collaboration with the Team Lead, Asset Management, Asset Remarketing & Recovery specialists, Collections, Legal, Sales, Credit, and finance teams. This role will be instrumental in helping the organization to maximize the return on the sale of repossessed or end of lease equipment while striving to keep costs to a minimum. Position will involve excellent collaboration with both internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure clear and concise notes always well maintained
- Update database platform on a regular basis in order to meet reporting requirements
- Assess and evaluate all equipment returns to determine resale values
- Determine final asking prices
- Collaborate with internal and external partners on best course of action to help with the resale
- Negotiate and finalize all sales transactions
- Prepare documentation to obtain ownerships and ensure all items are sold free and clear of any liens
- Help to develop a diverse, Canada-wide network of contacts (including appraisers, remarketing centre partners, repair facilities, etc.)
- Contribute to continuous improvement of policies and procedures both within and between departments.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Analysis of or investigation into select files to identify irregularities
- Collaborate with risk-management team to determine future best-practices with the interest of protecting our investments in mind
- Challenge status quo. Be proactive in looking for new ways of doing things, developing new relationships, and sharing ideas and thoughts for improvement with the team
- Any other related duties that may fall within the scope of this position.
The profile we are looking for:
- Construction and Transportation equipment background
- Experience in asset management, asset remarketing or any relevant experience related to the position
- A high degree of critical thinking to recognize equipment, transaction, and portfolio related risks as well as opportunities
- Complete English proficiency
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset to serve clients from all provinces in Canada
- Excellent communication skills
- Confident negotiator
- Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple and diverse tasks and workflows simultaneously.
- Energetic with a high level of integrity and good judgment
- Good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
