BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for an Engineering Technician. This is a full-time permanent position located in Windsor, NS.

The candidate will be responsible for:
  1. Participating in design review activities, equipment selection, and specification process.
  2. Participating in Process Hazard Analysis activities for process safety systems.
  3. Overseeing and actively participating in the installation of equipment as per manufacturer’s recommendations or engineering design.
  4. Red-lining and revising piping and instrumentation drawings (PIDS), facility and equipment drawings, and updating AutoCAD drawings.
  5. Troubleshooting process systems, equipment, and instruments.
  6. Coordinating project work with 3rd parties, contractors, etc.
  7. Preparing commissioning documentation and executing commissioning test functions.
  8. Executing qualification protocols to test equipment.
  9. Participating in Impact Assessment activities for equipment and utilities to determine critical components (for quality, safety, and environment).
  10. Writing maintenance and operation procedures and training staff in the proper use and maintenance of equipment.

The successful candidate for this position should have:

  1. Post-Secondary education in Engineering, CET, or MET.
  2. Experience in a project-based work environment.
  3. Industrial experience in a GMP environment would be an asset.
  4. Ability to read, interpret, revise, and create (AutoCAD) piping, instrumentation, facility, and equipment drawings.
  5. Experience reading & writing in a technical manner.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving, coordination, and computer skills.
  7. Ability to work independently in a regulated environment.
