Senior Director, Acquisition Credit Policy & Analytics

About The Role

Corpay is currently seeking a Senior Director of Acquisition Credit Policy & Analytics within our North American Fuel Division. This position will help lead a strategic function within the US Risk team. Credit and risk management are core to what the company does, and we are looking to double our business over the next 3-5 years. In this role, you will serve as the Credit subject matter expert tasked with executing credit strategies and analytics for the US Vehicle payment business of Corpay – approximately $1B in annual revenue. This position reports to the VP of Acquisition Risk for the US and we would like the candidate to be based in Atlanta.

How We Work

As a Senior Director of Acquisition Credit Policy & Analytics, you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

  • Assigned workspace in Atlanta, GA office

Responsibilities

  • Strategy: You will build and steward the implementation of the credit road map considering Corpay’s current and future strategy. You will do so by partnering with customers (for example: Sales, Digital Team), stakeholders (LOB owners, Legal/Compliance), and Risk functional leaders.
  • Planning: Lead efforts to evaluate, test, and integrate existing and new credit data sources by leveraging data and analytics.
  • Execution: You have end-to-end ownership of the application credit loss rates. With your deep domain experience in using data and analytics you help Corpay mitigate application credit risk while creating more automation and improving decision accuracy that enable us to grow.

If You Were Here The Last 3-6 Months Here Are Some Of The Things You Would Have Worked On And Delivered

  • Created and defined a credit strategy or vision.
  • Identified key people, processes, and technology needs to ensure that you deliver on building a best-in-class credit policy capable of enabling business growth while mitigating loss.
  • Undertaken analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of existing credit models, existing credit data sources, as well as new credit data sources to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. You would have then designed and implemented strategies, including new credit models and/or rules to prevent losses.
  • Designed and developed “test and learn” campaigns by partnering with other functions and business partners to validate key hypotheses.
  • Partnered with the Decision Technology team to implement credit rules and cashflow strategies.
  • Partnered with the Fraud Analytics team to maximize orthogonality between credit and fraud models by creating 1st vs 3rd party fraud tagging.
  • Worked to enhance, improve, and automate reporting.
  • Partnered with the credit operations team to identify process improvement opportunities associated with manual reviews and documentation requirements.
  • Partnered with other cross-functional teams to create segment-level NPV models to help maximize approvals.
  • Partnered with the Technology team, the Customer Service team, and other functions to understand the current products, targeting strategy, and key areas of improvement.
  • Managed a team of 1-2 offshore analysts to drive credit strategy analytics and development.
  • Worked on implementation of various strategies by writing and socializing business requirements with PMO and tech teams for making changes to credit policy, creating relevant brute force test cases, and running testing on these changes in UAT and production environments.

Traits We Seek For This Role

  • Ownership Mindset: We want you to treat this company like your own and run it with a high degree of initiative and passion to improve the customer experience for our customers and drive increased Corpay revenue and margin. This would also mean that you are intellectually curious, thirsting for learning and true understanding.
  • Leadership Traits: You are humble and yet driven. Humility means many things but being able to admit your mistakes so you can move faster, and acknowledging when you don’t know or need help so you can, again, move faster are a few examples. You speak your truth but know that “how” you say something is as important as “what” you say.
  • Team Building Skills: This is an individual contributor role to start with but your success is tied to being a collaborative leader. You can establish trust by putting other people first, influencing positively, communicating clearly, and having a high “say-do”.
  • Hands-On: We are looking for “player coaches” so someone who is desirous of getting their hands dirty. If you can’t write your own SQL code, build business cases in Excel, or create awesome PowerPoint presentations then this is not the right role for you.
  • Business Acumen: You have strong business acumen which means a few things like (i) the ability to think strategically, frame for success, and execute tactically (ii) understand how to prioritize most important, and (iii) deliver results over the short, medium, and long term, etc.
  • Attention to Detail: We are looking for people who have an eye for detail to figure out issues beyond high-level trends.
  • Curiosity: We are looking for people who have a “hunger to learn” beyond their role and function and who can help others around them grow by influence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of credit risk strategy experience in credit card acquisition, preferably with strong business acumen in the Near-Prime credit segment.
  • 5+ years of credit experience in underwriting and designing strategies for Small Business Segments.
  • Experience in building credit risk strategies for unsecured credit/lending, preferably in near-prime, new-to-credit, and thin file segments.
  • Expert analytical skills to drive business results through data-driven business proposals.
  • Proficiency in using Excel / Spreadsheet and PowerPoint / Slides.
  • Proficiency in using SQL and Python programming languages.
  • A history of success in leading initiatives and driving results.
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills; ability to deliver business proposals and present results to senior management.
  • Ability to collaborate well with business partners and influence business decisions.
  • Ability to lead other team members by influence.
