What will you be doing as the Community Engagement Coordinator?Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, the Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of Pride Toronto’s community initiatives throughout the year. The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for creating meaningful connections between the organization and its community, fostering collaborations, and ensuring the success of engagement initiatives. Some of these responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Working with the Community Engagement Manager to plan and execute community events
  • Managing schedules, meetings and documentation related to community engagement efforts
  • Providing admin support to the Community Engagement Manager as needed
  • Support the Community Engagement Manager in designing and executing community engagement programs and initiatives
  • Coordinating logistics such as venues, speakers, materials and schedules for community engagement events
  • Engaging with community members, stakeholders, and partners to build relationships, gather feedback and implement community recommendations to improve and increase community participation and the quality of programs and events
  • Develop strategies to increase community involvement and support for community events and initiatives
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
  • Organize community events and new initiatives
  • Collect and analyze data from community engagement activities
  • Prepare reports on program outcomes, participation metrics and community feedback
  • Collaborate with local and international organizations, partners and community members to promote and participate in Pride Toronto’s festivities and community events
  • Develop monthly newsletter content and support with social media for community initiatives
  • Cultivate and promote positive relationships with community members and community partners
  • Attending community events outside of the Pride month e.g Rainbow Senior’s pride
  • Serve as the secondary point of contact for community event related inquiries
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with community members, community partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt to change to include; floating around the festival footprint to help support and manage the community prides during the festival
  • Assist with festival delivery and ensure any assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner.

  • Experience in event planning, community outreach or a similar role is preferred

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Experience with project management
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the 2SLGBTQI+ communities
Nice to haves:
  • A valid G driver’s license
  • Familiarity with Pride Toronto
  • First Aid and CPR qualified
