About the role

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution and flow of administrative tasks on construction projects. The Project Coordinator is the primary liaison to the jobsite teams and other project stakeholders. Their duties involve coordinating schedules, obtaining permits, licenses and communicating with contractors and suppliers. Additionally, they prepare and maintain project documentation for compliance with project objectives, building codes, insurance regulations and local safety regulations. They work to ensure timely communication and efficient flow of project plans throughout the lifetime of the project.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage and coordinate administrative aspects of construction projects related to scheduling, quality assurance, resource allocation and task management to ensure successful project execution
  • Develop and regularly maintain project schedules, monitor progress, identify potential delays, and communicate challenges to necessary stakeholders to keep project on time
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, specifications, purchase orders, revisions and change orders
  • Organizing, distributing, tracking, and filing project documents to keep everyone informed, current and compliant.
  • Monitor construction quality and compliance with building codes, regulations, and project specifications with regular site inspections to ensure quality standards
  • Facilitating prompt communication among both internal and external stakeholders including site teams, architects, engineers, contractors, insurance providers and subcontractors, ensuring that the project remains on track.

Be aware of potential risks and hazards on construction sites, and help communicate mitigation measures to stakeholders to avoid disruptions or delays to the project schedules and budgets.

What we’re looking for

  • 4+ years experience in the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes
  • Experience in a similar role is an asset
  • Proficient with computers and software tools
