**Job Summary**
The Projects & Communications Coordinator (PCC) is involved in all aspects of the development and implementation of Skwah (Sqwá) Economic Development (SED)’s projects and events, including the development of new project funding opportunities and internal and external communication coordination.

The PCC is responsible for seeking funding and grant opportunities, researching needs, and writing proposals in areas aligned with SED’s strategic goals. The PCC is equally responsible for promoting SED and its activities and managing the SED’s profile and reputation within the Sqwá community and the broader general public.

The PCC performs a range of routine and non-routine tasks, including developing, implementing, and maintaining communications and engagement strategies and processes and developing, supporting, reporting on, and maintaining systems.

The PCC will also be responsible for supporting external communications, website content management, social media, quarterly newsletter, campaigns, meetings, and outreach efforts, developing the SED’s Annual Report, supporting planning and deployment of conferences and events, and marketing and sales support.

This position calls for a confident and articulate individual who can effectively support a diverse group of stakeholders with a range of requirements, deadlines, and schedules.

The PCC will track expected funding opportunities and ensure that the Director of Economic Development is informed of the status and execution of all funding proposals.

**Duties**
- Assures all reporting and information requirements of funders are met promptly and professionally. **Overall responsibility for organizing and ensure the execution of Ec-Dev projects and events**:

- Assist in drafting and reviewing content for SFN Ec-Dev newsletter and website.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and measuring external and internal communication plans and activities.
- Develop and implement communication materials and media content to inform the SFN community, Chief and Council, and SFN Ec-Dev-led activities, events, and initiatives.
- Coordinate media requirements and ensure consistent communication in community engagement sessions, workshops, meetings, and ceremonies.
- Develop communication materials to support and promote SFN’s Ec-Dev vision and mission statements, including message development, social media content creation and media outreach.
- Assist in developing and coordinating a communication strategy and/or policy to identify improved means of communication and effectively engage the Joint Ventures, Partners, SFN membership and community.
- Communicating with the Ec-Dev Director and any other stakeholders to define the needs and objectives for a project.
- Creating project plans that include goals, objectives, budget, timelines, funding, and personnel.
- Serve as a point of contact for SFN ED with SFN members, neighbouring businesses, institutions, and communities.
- Serve as a mentor to junior staff members and assist with their professional development to ensure alignment with the Sqwá’s strategic initiatives.
- Work with the SFN Team to create, develop and coordinate the completion of the SED Annual Report.
- Attending SFN, and community events.
- Assist in the coordination of community engagement and training initiatives.
- Monitoring project costs for budget adherence
- Monitoring project deliverables and milestones to ensure on-time completion.
- Proposing, examining, and amending project plan adjustments.
- Generating and disseminating project documentation.
- Evaluating projects to ensure goals have been achieved.
- Comply with federal and provincial Privacy Acts and Laws.
- Participate in organizational staff meetings.
- Respond to inquiries on SFN Ec-Dev activities and services.

**Requirements**:

- **A. Education**:

- Strong working knowledge of communication principles and practices and project management, preferably in a First Nations environment.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience is required.

**B. Knowledge and Skills**:

- Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication with strong writing and editorial abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Suite, WordPress, Adobe InDesign, internet, Canva or other public relations tools.
- Experience with social & web media platforms, content development and management
- Must possess strong project management skills.
- Occasionally required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines, execute flawlessly on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment, and see a project through to completion.
- Exceptional research, tracking, and organizational abilities
