Position Info:

· Position: Early Childhood Educator

· Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

· Wage: $20.00~$24.00/hour (depending on experience)

· Number of Positions: 2

· Work Location: 121 East Columbia Street, New Westminster, BC V3L 3V7

· 10 days paid vacation per year

Job Duties:

  1. Develop and implement child-care programs supporting and promoting the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development of children.
  2. Plan and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, or taking children to local points of interest.
  3. Provide opportunities to express creativity through arts, play, music, and physical activities.
  4. Evaluate the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff.
  5. Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  6. Detect the signs of potential learning or behavioural problems of children and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  7. Maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  8. Build collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.

Job Requirements:

  1. Education: College Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education is required.
  2. Experience: Experience is an asset.
  3. Certificate: First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate and E.C.E. Certificate.
