Calibration Dataset Management Engineer - Associate - PSP

Job Summary:

Our client in Windsor, ON is looking for a Calibration Dataset Management Engineer - Associate - PSP. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

The Calibration Dataset/calibration Manager is responsible for managing all hybrid and engine controller calibration datasets to support vehicle development, milestones and vehicle manufacturing. This will include building development calibrations regularly for powertrain calibration teams to test during their development while thoroughly documenting calibrations changes and conducting calibration comparisons. Support in vehicle data capture, analysis, and issue management with calibration team.They will provide support to the various calibration teams for resolving any system issues (GIMS, PITS, Etc..).Lastly, the Calibration Dataset Manager will be responsible for preparing all calibration related Certification and Running Change documentation for Production Releases.

The Calibration Dataset Manager will support the calibration team on a daily and weekly basis and be fully integrated into the development of the hybrid propulsion system. The engineer should expect to potentially perform release DVP&Rs in vehicle to ensure validity of the releases prior to distribution.

The individual will have also demonstrated the ability to work well with others and be able to effectively communicate both remotely and in person. The engineer must be a team player, supporting and promoting team accomplishments versus person achievement.

Basics:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in Automotive or similar industry, related to embedded control systems.
  • Ability to learn quickly and utilize Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, OneNote, etc.) effectively.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and with others.
  • Ability to balance work effectively on multiple issues.
  • Action a disciplined test plan and verification process to ensure quality calibrations are released.
  • Level of analytic ability and creativity.
  • Ability to balance work effectively on multiple issues.
  • Strong knowledge of the Powertrain system.
  • Remote with some occasional trave to the US for meetings (occasional meaning 1 to 2 times per month).
  • Driving of a vehicle required.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Propulsion systems including hybrids.
  • Knowledge of calibration of engine, transmission or hybrid propulsion systems.
  • Knowledge of software development and releasing.
