What we need:

We are seeking a creative and dynamic Senior Corporate Communications Specialist to support planning, launch and implementation of Computerized Providers Order Entry (CPOE) at Oak Valley Health. As an integral part of the CPOE team, this role will provide strategic advice, develop materials and provide general communications support to the project. The Senior Corporate Communications Specialist will liaise with other member of the Communication and Public Affairs team and ensure CPOE communications activities align with OVH’s Oak Valley Health’s values, goals and priorities.

Work schedule:

Monday - Friday

20 hours/week

Responsibilities

The Senior Corporate Communications Specialist will draw on their extensive experience in strategic communications to drive communication plans consistent with the CPOE’s strategic plan. The Senior Corporate Communications Specialist will plan and execute communication activities through a variety of internal communications channels to drive awareness and understanding of the project and how it will affect various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer and have knowledge of the health care system and content multi-media development and be comfortable working in a large complex organization.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide strategic communications advice to the CPOE executive steering committee.
  • Produce core communication materials such as communication plans, key messages, briefing notes, memos, reports and presentations for different audiences across the organization.
  • Work within brand guidelines and writing style guide to ensure quality and consistency with Oak Valley Health brand standards.
  • Develop and maintain the CPOE intranet content.
  • Build strong relationships and engage with CPOE stakeholders, including partners, physicians, volunteers, patients, etc. to gather relevant content to inform and drive communications activities.
  • Develop and execute engaging, dynamic and creative multimedia content to promote the CPOE project internally.
  • Collaborate with digital and design teams (in-house and external suppliers) for special projects as required.
  • Analyze, track and report performance metrics such as content engagement, open rates, open forum participation, etc.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, or equivalent with a minimum of five years of related experience.
  • Experience collaborating on large scale health care projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to facilitate excellent working relationships with staff, physicians, and volunteers.
  • Excellent writing, researching, reviewing and editing skills, with the ability to compose internal and external. communication products for all media and audiences. And thorough knowledge of Canadian Press (CP) style.
  • Skilled at knowledge translation – distilling technical information for multiple audiences.
  • Trustworthy, reliable and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and have good organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the team.
  • Ability to work well independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills, results-driven.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
  • Ability to work after hours or evenings (minimal) as required.
