Position Summary

Reporting to the Territory Manager, you will leverage your valve experience to act as the single point of contact for customers from initial inquiry to final product delivery. As the Inside Sales Representative, you will provide quotes and solutions to CGIS customers through order processing. As the primary point of contact for customers in the Mining, Oil & Gas, Power, Pulp & Paper, Refining, and Water / Wastewater industries, you will collaborate with internal technical resources, to ensure every customer receives personalized superior service, aligned with CGIS values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a trusted partner for Streamline Solution requests and orders.
  • Prepare Streamline solutions quotations in a timely manner for:
    • Products manufactured by Ebro and Chaoda, two of our core suppliers.
    • Inventory, dead stock, vendor stock, manufacturers inventory, and production.
    • Customer requests or specifications and use your experience to find the most suitable solutions.
  • Respond, acknowledge, and provide a great customer experience for all customers.
  • Build meaningful customer relationships and develop a deep understanding of Key customers’ needs.
  • Collaborate with SME (Subject Matter Expert) and/or TSR (Technical Sales Representative) to ensure the strategies to market are understood and executed for each customer.
  • Use SAP to log quote opportunities, prepare quotes, and track follow-ups.’
  • Provide accurate quotes based on each specific customer order, ensuring appropriate margin and lead time to ensure a winning quote.
  • Stay knowledgeable and up to date about current inventory.
  • Interact with manufacturers to get technical pricing and delivery needs in a timely manner.
  • Understand fulfillment options and provide necessary information to allow related procurement, stock transfer, and production activities to be completed.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Support, Buyers, and Warehouse team on order related issues and keep customer updated throughout the process.
  • Create and manage annual blanket pricing with OEM and Key accounts; work with Operations to develop stocking plans to support these agreements.
  • Explore business development opportunities for the assigned product lines with new / non-assigned accounts.

Technical Knowledge and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an inside sales/customer service role in an industrial environment.
  • Degree/Diploma and/or relevant technical experience in the fields of Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
  • Previous experience with industrial valves and/or automation is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the markets of Chemical, Oil and Gas, Pulp and Paper, Power, Water or Wastewater is considered an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License to travel to customer sites for face-to-face visits up to a maximum of 10% of the time.

  • Superb listening skills to fully understand customer’s needs to recommend the best suited solutions.
  • Proven experience providing the highest quality service for customers.
  • Desire to work collaboratively with a technical team as well as effectively performing independently.
  • Passion for continuous learning to improve skills.
  • Strong understanding and interest of the sales process.
  • General computer literacy in Microsoft Office and other related software/systems.
  • Experience using and ERP is considered an asset.
