Position Summary

Centralized procurement of all CCLS purchased transportation, negotiation and management of tariffs, service levels and performance. Primary responsibilities include overseeing procurement strategies, vendor relationships, and supplier negotiations to ensure the cost-effective and efficient acquisition of goods and services necessary for our operations within the trucking and logistics industry.

Location: Ontario

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 40 hours

What you will do

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with company objectives and industry standards for rolling stock.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements to optimize costs, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Collaborate with operations, sales and finance departments to align procurement activities with project timelines and budgetary requirements.
  • Oversee supplier performance, implementing metrics and improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and mitigate risks.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies throughout the procurement process.

Create and maintain a repository of all purchased transportation agreements.

Spec’ing and purchasing of power units for Canada Cartage

Review and approve complicated specifications for power units

What You’ll Bring

5-7 years in a similar role

Bachelor’s degree, an asset with finance background

310T, an asset

Proven experience in procurement management within the transportation industry

Along with the following Skills & Competencies:

Exemplary analytical skills both quantitative and qualitative

Exemplary negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management skills

Strong communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Strong attention to detail

Knowledge and past experience of fleet maintenance

Strong relationship skills

Creative and eager with a can do attitude

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
