Our client is in search of a dynamic and proactive IT Manager to oversee and enhance our Datacenters, Applications, and Domain Security infrastructure.

Relocation to Tumbler Ridge, BC or traveling to site every few weeks for a week or two at a time is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the management of Datacenters and Domain Security, including shaping and leading a proficient team of Technicians to ensure seamless IT operations.
  • Develop and implement security policies across the organization while managing IT Technicians to optimize Helpdesk service.
  • Execute a strategic vision for modernizing IT operations, providing hands-on assistance with help desk support, managing Datacenters, establishing and implementing security policies, and overseeing IT/OT applications both on-premises and in the cloud.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in managing a mid-size IT Department in a 24x7 environment.
  • Skilled in implementing security policies and access controls.
  • Strong project management and leadership abilities with broad technology experience.
  • Experience managing data centers across multiple sites and supporting a range of infrastructure services.
  • Hands-on expertise in managing servers, storage, MS Exchange, SQL databases, and various applications.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft products, application licensing, and infrastructure management, including virtual environments such as VMWare.
  • Consultative expertise in networking solutions, including wireless, CISCO Switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and provide coaching and guidance to team members.
  • Proficiency in supporting Microsoft Windows operating environments, including Active Directory, Azure integration, and Office365 applications.
  • Hands-on management and enhancement of multiple Datacenters and application systems.
  • Leadership of the help desk technicians team, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Oversight of Datacenters, VMware, SQL database applications, MS Windows operating environments, Active Directory, Azure integration, and Office365 applications.
  • Collaboration with the Network Infrastructure team to strengthen internal and cyber security measures.
  • Development and implementation of policies related to domain security and disaster recovery.
  • Analysis of resource utilization and optimization strategies to enhance performance.
  • Establishment, measurement, and definition of IT goals and maintenance of an IT roadmap.
  • Monitoring and analysis of the success of IT initiatives and projects, alongside continuous evaluation of new technologies and tools.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in IT management and leadership, with expertise in managing direct reports, team building, evaluations, and new hire experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience supporting various operating systems and technologies, including MS Exchange, Active Directory, Azure AD, SharePoint, and SQL Database.
  • Strong networking experience with CISCO Switches/Routers, Firewalls, and Gateways.
  • Proficiency in managing enterprise backup and recovery procedures, system performance monitoring, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Experience with security software applications/tools such as Crowstrike, Ironscale, Proofpoint, and CISCO ISE.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 platforms, including Power BI, SharePoint, and Azure Cloud.
  • Experience in network administration, with Cisco certification being advantageous.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, workflows, and processes is desirable, with Project Management certification (PMP) being an asset.
