Position Summary

The Hill and Levene Schools of Business at the University of Regina invites applications for a full-time Term Lecturer in Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour.

Position Details Include:
  1. 11-month term, from August 01, 2024 to June 30, 2025
  2. Teaching load of seven classes over the Fall, Winter, and Spring semesters
  3. Courses will include both introductory and advanced level courses at both the undergraduate (BUS) and graduate (GBUS) levels
  4. Courses could include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • BUS 250: Introduction to Human Resources & Industrial Relations
  • BUS 260: Introduction to Organizational Behaviour
  • BUS 361: Organizational Change & Development
  • GBUS 844: Labour Relations & Collective Bargaining
  • GBUS 846AF: Mentorship and Leadership Development

Teaching assignments will be finalized with the successful candidate based on the needs of each program as well as the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Expectations for this position include, but aren’t limited to, the following:

  • For each course, preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades on time;
  • For each course, teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines;
  • For each course, delivering 26 75-minute lectures throughout the semester (unless otherwise discussed with the Associate Dean);
  • Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment;
  • Providing regular support to students on course work as required before and after each class, during office hours, and as required by students;
  • Meeting all submission deadlines as outlined by the Hill and Levene Schools of Business;
  • Consulting with the relevant Associate Dean on academic or student-related matters as needed; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Graduate and/or PhD/doctorate degree in Human Resources and/or Organizational Behaviour (e.g., Master of Human Resource Management, Master of Administration in Leadership, Master of Science in Organization Studies);
  • A Bachelor’s degree coupled with relevant professional business experience may also be considered;
  • Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) designation;
  • Superior communication skills (both written and verbal);
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with respect to academic reporting; and
  • Recent track record of effective teaching experience in a post-secondary environment considered an asset.
