Job Description

Based in Corner Brook, NL, our client is seeking an ambitious Accounting Manager to join their detail-focused team.

Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for generating timely and accurate accounting for the group of companies. Working closely with the finance team, you'll play a vital role in leading the accounting duties and facilitating precise management reports. If you thrive on working within a multi-company, fast-paced environment this is the role you've been waiting for.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:
  1. Overseeing the accounting cycle to ensure accurate financial reporting
  2. Managing the general ledger and all journal entries
  3. Overseeing all AP and AR
  4. Overseeing all the payroll duties
  5. Intercompany reconciliations
  6. Assist with preparing and filing tax remittances
  7. Assist with preparing Review and Notice to Reader Financial Statements
  8. Preparing compliance financial records and information for individuals, departments, or companies
  9. Examine accounting records, and analyze financial documents and reports while ensuring accuracy and compliance to accounting standards.
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  1. Post-secondary education in accounting or business; or equivalent combination of training and experience
  2. CPA designation would be considered an asset
  3. 5+ years experience performing full-cycle accounting
  4. Previous experience in the construction industry would be an asset
  5. Experience with Sage and Jonas accounting software would be an asset
  6. Ability to work in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and diligence
  7. Highly organized and focused work ethic
  8. Efficient and effective time management skills to meet deadlines
  9. Strong communication skills and ability to develop professional relationships
  10. Adaptable and flexible with a positive and personable demeanour
